The Creative Studio at Anthropic manages brand expression for Anthropic and its product Claude, emphasizing craft and thoughtful use of AI.
Role Overview
This leadership position focuses on brand strategy, storytelling, and creative direction. You will oversee the voice, tone, and written content across marketing materials for both Anthropic and Claude brands, covering web copy, social media, product launches, campaigns, and more. The role involves growing and managing a team of writers and content strategists, collaborating with Creative Directors to deliver impactful, polished creative work.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and continuously refine the distinctive voice and tone frameworks suited to diverse audiences, including developers, enterprise clients, and the general public.
- Partner with marketing strategists and Creative Directors to ensure voice and tone consistency across all marketing channels.
- Lead creative strategy and content creation for campaigns, product launches, web presence, social media, and multimedia content.
- Set high standards for creativity, crafting work that is innovative, precise, and authentically human.
- Recruit, mentor, and expand a skilled team of writers and content strategists, fostering a culture of excellence and collaborative ambition.
- Establish effective creative workflows and feedback mechanisms to enable the team to deliver superior work efficiently and at scale.
- Collaborate closely with other Creative Directors across product, enterprise, web, video, and growth teams to maintain cohesive, high-quality creative output.
- Act as a strategic creative partner to marketing leadership, contributing to overarching creative strategy and execution.
- Bridge human creative vision with AI-powered execution systems by translating strategic goals into effective prompting frameworks and quality standards.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 12 years of experience in creative leadership, especially in creative strategy, copywriting, and content development within dynamic, high-pressure environments.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional writing skills and leadership in defining and guiding creative vision at scale.
- Expertise in establishing or evolving brand voice and tone to build emotional connection and trust with varied audiences.
- Proven success in hiring, mentoring, and growing creative teams.
- Collaborative mindset, comfortable working with designers, engineers, product teams, communications experts, and senior leadership.
- Capability to balance strategic direction with hands-on creative work, shifting seamlessly between big-picture thinking and detailed execution.
- Curiosity and understanding of AI and its societal impact, with ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and warmly.
- Preferred experience includes working within or alongside technical/scientific organizations, translating complex topics into accessible, compelling content;
- Familiarity with AI industry communications challenges and prior experience in high-growth technology company creative environments.
Compensation and Logistics
The annual salary for this position ranges from $320,000 to $400,000 USD. Candidates should possess at least a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role. This full-time, onsite role requires presence in the office at least 25% of the time.
