About the Role

This senior leadership position is centered on developing and expanding a comprehensive AI strategy across the enterprise that drives value through technology, data, and machine learning innovations. The successful candidate will guide the advancement of AI within customer interactions, internal processes, and product development.

The role demands a combination of high-level strategic insight and practical technical know-how, enabling the translation of new AI trends into quantifiable business results. The Head of AI will establish and nurture a dynamic AI and Data Science team, create robust governance and operational frameworks, and champion ethical AI practices. Collaboration with senior leadership and interdisciplinary teams will be essential to pinpoint impactful AI opportunities and accelerate their implementation.

Primary Responsibilities

Craft and implement a forward-looking AI strategy, operating framework, and development roadmap aligned with business goals and emerging technologies.
Spot AI-driven avenues to enhance customer experiences, boost operational efficiencies, gain competitive advantage, and fuel revenue growth.
Establish and expand a cross-functional AI and Data Science team comprising machine learning engineers, AI engineers, and data scientists.
Set up organizational structures, technical protocols, performance benchmarks, governance policies, and accountability mechanisms.
Develop processes to assess, prioritize, and oversee AI projects based on impact, data needs, and feasibility.
Institute responsible AI practices encompassing governance, ethical use, data privacy and security.
Drive the development and deployment of machine learning solutions, AI agents, predictive analytics, and scalable production-grade AI systems.
Ensure AI implementations are reliable, measurable, continuously monitored, and scalable within enterprise settings.
Collaborate across Product, Engineering, Operations, Customer Success, Sales, and Finance teams to deliver impactful AI solutions.
Communicate AI initiatives, progress, investments, and outcomes effectively to executives and stakeholders.
Evaluate AI vendors, platforms, and technologies to decide on building internally, purchasing, or hybrid approaches.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum of ten years in leadership roles within AI, machine learning, data science, software development, or related fields.
Track record of formulating technology strategies and deploying large-scale AI or data-centric projects.
Deep understanding of contemporary AI and data science methods, including machine learning, large language models, agentic systems, MLOps, and AI lifecycle management.
Experience overseeing production ML systems, conducting model evaluations, establishing governance, and ensuring operational dependability.
Strong ability to translate sophisticated technical concepts into clear business benefits for non-technical leaders.
Proven skill in managing cross-functional teams and influencing senior leadership.
Excellent judgment linking AI investments with customer impact, revenue potential, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation.
Commitment to ethical AI standards including privacy, bias reduction, and compliance with regulations.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, AI, data science, engineering or related disciplines required; advanced degrees preferred.
Experience in industrial tech, predictive maintenance, manufacturing, IoT, sensor-driven products, or enterprise SaaS is advantageous.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS), MLOps tools, cloud data ecosystems, and enterprise integration a plus.
