Role Overview
Roadstone is recruiting Graduate Civil Engineers for its Road Contracts Division in Galway, at Roadstone Galway, Two Mile Ditch, Castlegar. The company is a major Irish producer and supplier of building materials, known for its focus on product quality, dependable service, innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.
This opportunity sits within Roadstone’s two-year graduate development programme, designed to build technical, commercial, interpersonal, and management capability through a semi-structured rotation across different parts of the business. The 2026 programme begins in early September 2026.
What the Role Involves
The position offers practical exposure to the planning, delivery, and management of road construction work. Graduates will support experienced engineers and contribute to the successful completion of road infrastructure projects for major clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Support strong health, safety, and environmental standards across operations.
- Develop an understanding of how mobile and fixed plant are operated and maintained.
- Help ensure processes are run safely and efficiently while maintaining productivity.
- Participate in projects aimed at improving sustainability and operational efficiency.
- In the Road Contracts area, assist with planning road surfacing works, including the preparation of safety documents and traffic management plans.
- In quarry settings, help coordinate and supervise maintenance activities under local management guidance.
- Track output to make sure work and products meet the required quality standards.
- Communicate plans and information clearly with employees, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Candidate Profile
- A third-level qualification in Civil Engineering, or a similar qualification.

- A valid clean driving licence, as a company vehicle is provided.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Self-driven, organised, proactive, and focused on results.
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Comfortable working to tight deadlines and strict timelines.
- Good computer literacy.
