General Merchandise Team Lead

Position Overview

The General Merchandise Team Lead supports leadership within the General Merchandise area by managing department processes, addressing challenges, and fostering associate development through coaching and training. This role emphasizes delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring operational tasks are completed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer experiences by greeting customers warmly, promoting products, assisting with merchandise location and purchase decisions, resolving issues, and escalating concerns appropriately.
• Assist in directing and coordinating task completion based on priorities shared by the General Merchandise Coach and Store Management, including delegating and monitoring daily Customer Availability operations.
• Evaluate the presentation and appearance of General Merchandise departments, identifying deficiencies and implementing merchandising display adjustments as necessary.
• Maintain consistent communication with team members, lead daily Team Huddles at shift commencement to provide updates, set objectives, and track productivity.
• Collaborate with the People Lead to review staff schedules and assign associates across store areas to support coverage and availability tasks.
• Conduct area tours with the Coach and associates to identify training opportunities, provide coaching, and deliver feedback to support associate development.
• Promote a safe, clean workplace by adhering to company policies, completing safety sweep logs, and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure and free of hazards.
• Complete GTA and Workday tasks to support management functions.
• Partner with Coach and People Lead to facilitate performance management, growth conversations, recruitment, and hiring of new associates.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age or older.

Compensation

The minimum hourly wage for this role is $20.25.
