General Merchandise Lead Department Manager

Position Overview

The General Merchandise Lead Department Manager plays a vital leadership role by guiding the General Merchandise and Fashion Associates alongside the Assistant Manager. This position ensures exceptional customer service delivery and fosters completion of all departmental tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by courteously greeting customers, assisting with product recommendations, locating merchandise, aiding buying decisions, handling inquiries, and escalating concerns appropriately.
• Provide guidance and coordinate task execution in alignment with priorities set by the Assistant Manager and Store Management team.
• Evaluate the overall merchandising and appearance of the General Merchandise and Fashion Departments, identify issues requiring correction, and implement display changes as needed.
• Delegate and oversee the completion of daily Customer Availability Process duties.
• Support scheduling activities when necessary to ensure adequate department coverage.
• Assign associates to cover tasks and maintain availability across all store areas.
• Engage in training and development activities for the General Merchandise and Fashion teams, offering constructive feedback.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment by following company policies, completing safety sweep logs, and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure and tidy.

Compensation

The starting hourly pay rate for this role is $21.50.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
