Role Overview

The General Manager will direct the strategic and operational aspects of the five companies as a unified platform. This role holds full accountability for commercial outcomes, margin oversight, and embedding Wtechs proprietary operational system, FrameWorks, as the foundation of every business.

• Rapidly comprehends commercial, technical, and financial nuances across multiple business units; identifies unseen patterns and provides clarity around pricing, contracts, capital expenditures, and acquisition prospects.
• Effectively reads and understands people, fosters trust among experienced Managing Directors, listens attentively, encourages constructive dissent, and holds teams accountable while enhancing relationships.
• Strives continuously for improvement, leads by example, challenges the status quo, and is candid about areas needing enhancement.
• Manages business performance through targeted key metrics, with a focus on transparent weekly reviews and performance measurement.
• Strictly advocates the FrameWorks internal system, ensuring all operations including tenders, purchase orders, timesheets, jobs, variations, and margins are accurately processed within this system, eliminating reliance on outdated alternatives.
• Values and enhances operational processes, understanding that well-designed procedures protect employees and foster a positive working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and unify five Managing Directors into a cohesive senior leadership team for Detection & Security.
• Own the consolidated multi-company profit and loss, forecasts, and capital investment decisions.
• Drive comprehensive adoption and disciplined use of the FrameWorks system across all entities.
• Standardize standard operating procedures (SOPs), pricing strategies, and service delivery methods.
• Develop and execute sales strategies prioritizing recurring revenue streams such as service, maintenance, and monitoring.
• Establish and nurture key relationships with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders at the platforms operational level.
• Ensure strict adherence to all relevant health, safety, security, and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) regulations on every site.
• Champion a health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) culture and uphold the Wtech standard in all workplaces.
• Identify, evaluate, and integrate acquisition opportunities within the detection and security sector.

• Complete FrameWorks system adoption throughout all trading companies.
• Consistent standardization of SOPs and service delivery.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• At least five years in fire detection, life safety, or security sectors.
• A minimum of five years experience managing a multi-site or group structure at General Manager or comparable senior level.
• Proven ownership and accountability of P&L at scale.
• Strong technical expertise in detection and security systems, including understanding of regulations and industry standards.
• Established record of building, mentoring, and holding senior leadership teams accountable.
• Experience with mergers and acquisitions integration and managing major B2B accounts.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating ideas effectively in writing, client presentations, and workforce engagements.

Desirable Qualifications

• Degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
• Background in lean management or operational excellence.
• Experience implementing digital operational platforms across multiple businesses.
