FX Trader

Position Overview

Coronation Merchant Bank in Lagos, Nigeria, is searching for a seasoned FX Trader to become a vital part of our Treasury department. The selected candidate will be responsible for executing foreign exchange transactions and overseeing currency risk, aligning with market dynamics and regulatory standards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct spot, forward, and swap foreign exchange deals on behalf of the bank and its clients.
• Continuously observe FX market developments, rates, and liquidity in real time.
• Manage the bank's foreign exchange trading portfolios within authorized limits.
• Set and quote prices for corporate and institutional clients effectively.
• Adhere strictly to Central Bank of Nigeria's FX guidelines and internal risk management policies.
• Establish and nurture relationships with counterparties, correspondent banks, and customers.
• Work collaboratively with Treasury Sales, Risk Management, and Settlements teams to ensure smooth trade execution and reporting.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of three years' experience as an FX Dealer in a bank or financial institution.
• In-depth knowledge of the Nigerian FX market and compliance with CBN regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated success in foreign exchange trading and risk control.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and decision-making capabilities under high-pressure conditions.
• Holding professional certifications such as the ACI Dealing Certificate is a plus.
