Keyholder Role Overview
As a Keyholder, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our stores maintain high standards of operation and customer engagement. Your responsibilities include fostering an enjoyable shopping experience by recommending suitable products and services to support the health and happiness of pets. You will share in driving store profitability to support ongoing growth and position our brand as the devoted partner throughout the pet ownership lifecycle. Keyholders handle a wide array of store operations and represent their store within the community. Our values of Safety, Compassion, Expertise, and Efficiency guide your daily work and leadership.
Responsibilities
- Perform cashier duties and assist customers with purchases.
- Prepare merchandise orders, manage banking tasks, and handle other administrative paperwork.
- Stock small items (under 10 lbs) including pet supplies and household goods in the sales floor.
- Maintain store cleanliness through sweeping, dusting, and general upkeep.
- Help unload delivery shipments containing cases and bags of pet food and supplies (up to 50 lbs) and stock items appropriately.
- Open and close the store efficiently while adhering to company policies and procedures.
- When the Store Manager or Assistant Manager is absent, assign daily tasks and goals to Assistant Customer Experience employees.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned to support store operations.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years’ experience in retail or customer service roles.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Possess an outgoing, friendly demeanor combined with excellent customer service skills.
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Availability to work flexible shifts based on business demands, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Reliable transportation to and from the store location.
- Valid driver’s license may be required.
