About SGN
The Singapore Global Network (SGN) is a unit within the Economic Development Board. Its mandate is to strengthen Singapore’s overseas community of Family, Friends, and Fans, and to help build a wide-reaching network that supports Singapore’s global links. SGN coordinates across government agencies to grow connections with business and talent communities around the world and to reinforce Singapore’s standing as a globally connected city.
Role overview
As part of SGN’s digital products team, you will help build, run, and improve the technical systems that support SGN’s work with partner government agencies. The role involves end-to-end product development, system integrations, and operational responsibilities in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
What you will do
- Create modern, responsive web applications from design to deployment.
- Develop backend services and APIs that can scale, using AWS microservices or other SaaS-based platforms.
- Connect SaaS tools with internal systems through reliable integrations built on AWS services.
- Set up and improve CI/CD workflows in GitLab CI/CD to support automated testing, security checks, and multi-environment deployments.
- Use Infrastructure as Code practices, especially Terraform, to provision and manage AWS infrastructure in a repeatable way.
- Implement and support security and compliance controls using AWS tools such as Cognito, AWS WAF, and Secrets Manager, along with other security solutions.
- Review code and infrastructure regularly, including vulnerability assessments and compliance verification.
What we are looking for
We are seeking someone who is resourceful, principled, proactive, and collaborative. The ideal candidate can work independently on moderately complex features and is comfortable handling both development and operational tasks.
- 0 to 5 years of software development experience.
- Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong ability in at least one modern frontend framework such as React, Vue, or Angular.
- Strong ability in at least one backend language such as Python, Node.js, or Java.
- Practical knowledge of database administration and data handling, including SQL, NoSQL, and CRUD operations.
- Experience building APIs and integrating third-party SaaS systems.
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD or a similar continuous integration and delivery platform.
- Hands-on exposure to Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform.
- Working understanding of AWS cloud services and common architecture patterns.
- Must be Singaporean or a Permanent Resident.
Additional qualifications
- Prior experience with Salesforce or comparable enterprise SaaS platforms is an advantage.
- Experience with 0-to-1 product development will be helpful.
- Relevant AWS certifications are preferred.
Contract details
This is a 1+1 year contract role.
