Role Overview
We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst to take ownership of investor and external reporting activities. This role involves leading interactions with institutional investors and orchestrating cross-departmental collaboration to produce precise, timely, and well-documented reports. Between reporting periods, you will assist in the annual budgeting process, forecasting efforts, and development of financial models. Reporting to the FP&A Manager, this position suits a detailed-oriented, analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the main liaison for investor and external reporting requests, overseeing intake, prioritization, and delivery processes.
- Manage the recurring investor reporting cycle, including scheduling, monthly outputs, and addressing ad hoc inquiries.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts involving Finance, Business Intelligence, Accounting, Operations, and Asset Management teams.
- Reconcile data across sources, identify underlying issues, and enhance data quality at the origin.
- Support creation of board materials and executive presentations that clearly convey the financial narratives.
- Develop and maintain financial models used for budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, strategic projects, and investor reporting.
- Analyze financial results, investigate variances and trends, linking them to operational drivers.
- Partner with Business Intelligence to streamline reporting by automating processes, standardizing metrics, documenting procedures, and improving controls.
- Undertake special projects and ad hoc analyses for the FP&A department and senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Economics, or related discipline.
- Two to five years of experience in FP&A, investor or financial reporting, corporate finance, or similar analytical roles.
- Proven expertise in financial modeling supporting budgets, forecasts, long-term planning, capital investments, or valuations.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint with ability to perform reconciliations and deliver executive-level presentations.
- Experience working with large datasets using SQL or comparable tools; familiarity with enterprise reporting software such as Adaptive, Incorta, Power BI, or Tableau is advantageous.
- Strong foundation in finance and accounting principles; excellent communication skills capable of simplifying complex analysis for diverse audiences, including financial, non-financial, senior, and external stakeholders.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a history of managing deadline-driven deliverables across multiple departments.
- Self-starter with ability to rapidly learn new technologies, tools, and processes.
- Prior experience supporting institutional investors or REIT reporting is highly desirable; background in real estate, manufactured housing, or other real assets is a plus.
