About the Role
A well-established civil engineering consultancy is seeking an Assistant Estimator to join their team in Glasgow, working on major UK infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to progress your career through hands-on experience in various infrastructure sectors such as highways, bridges, drainage, and water management, supported by structured mentoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for major infrastructure projects.
- Perform quantity take-offs and contribute to the preparation of Bills of Quantities.
- Review engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
- Support senior Cost Engineers throughout the estimating workflow.
- Maintain up-to-date estimating data and cost information systems.
- Develop commercial and technical expertise within a collaborative team environment.
Requirements
- Between 1 to 3 years of experience in estimating or related construction or commercial roles.
- Background in civil engineering, infrastructure, or construction sectors.
- Strong numerical abilities and analytical thinking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrates a proactive mindset and a strong desire for continuous development.
- Experience related to highways, bridges, drainage, water, structural works, utilities, or temporary works is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
