About The Role
We are looking for a meticulous and data-focused Entry-Level Data Scientist to join our semiconductor engineering team. This position is ideal for new graduates who are eager to apply data science techniques to complex problems such as product development, test optimization, quality control, and yield enhancement. You will work closely with Product, Test, Quality, and Yield Engineering teams to analyze large-scale manufacturing and testing datasets, develop predictive models, and generate insights that lead to process advancements and product reliability improvements. This role offers a chance to contribute to advanced semiconductor technologies through data analytics and artificial intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine wafer sorting data, final testing results, and inline processing data to detect patterns, anomalies, and root causes.
- Create statistical and machine learning models to forecast yield, identify outliers, and enhance test coverage.
- Design dashboards and visualizations to track key performance indicators across product and testing stages.
- Engage with multidisciplinary engineering teams to convert data findings into practical enhancements.
- Automate data workflows and reporting systems to facilitate ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Assist quality investigations via extensive data analysis and correlation studies.
- Innovate AI/ML approaches to resolve unconventional technical challenges.
- Leverage cloud computing resources such as CPUs and GPUs for extensive data processing tasks.
- Participate in training, receive mentoring, and gain guidance to support career progression.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related discipline.
- Solid understanding of statistics, data analytics, and machine learning methodologies.
- Proficiency in Python or R programming languages, utilizing libraries like pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and matplotlib.
- Knowledge of SQL and experience operating with large database systems.
- Basic awareness of semiconductor fabrication and testing processes is advantageous.
- Experience with data visualization platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or Plotly is a plus.
- Capability to analyze complex datasets and articulate insights effectively to technical teams.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a collaborative working style.
- Previous internship or academic project work in manufacturing, electronics, or data analysis fields is beneficial.
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of Generative AI principles and practical applications.
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and their incorporation into data workflows.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS or Azure and big data technologies.
