Job description
Role Overview
This leadership position requires spearheading the enterprise database unit focused on ensuring optimal availability, performance, security, and compliance of database platforms vital to business applications and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide the daily functions of the database administration team.
- Formulate and implement database strategies, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Maintain database uptime, enhance performance, and oversee backup and recovery mechanisms.
- Collaborate with application teams for system deployments and updates.
- Continuously monitor and improve database capacity and operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to security protocols and regulatory mandates.
- Handle database-related incidents, evaluate risks, and manage vendor relationships.
- Champion automation efforts and ongoing process enhancements.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant discipline.
- 8 to 12 years of hands-on experience in database administration inclusive of leadership roles.
