Job Overview
The English Language Instructor will be responsible for imparting knowledge of English language and literature to trainees, creating stimulating lessons, assessing progress, and nurturing a constructive learning atmosphere. Key duties include developing curriculum materials, executing instructional strategies, and aiding trainees in meeting their academic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in the Institute's English Language Teaching Delivery team to ensure trainees are fully prepared for employment in local industries.
- Deliver the English Language segment integrated within the Diploma technical pathway, adhering to curriculum content and conducting necessary assessments.
- Conduct lessons based on schemes of work and available teaching materials while tailoring lesson plans to suit realistic class learning pace.
- Use diverse teaching methods and resources to support both English language and soft skills development aligned with various kinaesthetic learning styles.
- Contribute to creating and maintaining teaching resources and provide insights for the development of materials within the designated responsibilities.
- Collaborate closely with English, Engineering Teams, Quality Coordinators, and Technicians to support a comprehensive curriculum delivery approach.
- Participate in the “Train the Trainer” professional development program to improve teaching quality across the Institute.
- Provide detailed trainee appraisals to the English Language team, Institute management, and Trainee Affairs for report preparation.
- Assist Trainee Affairs by maintaining accurate records of attendance, assessments, and trainee achievements compliant with Quality Assurance processes.
- Coordinate Self-Assessment Reviews within the English Language Department.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Head of Training and management to meet professional training and sponsor requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related discipline is required; a Master’s degree or relevant certification is advantageous.
- A minimum of three years teaching experience in English language within a vocational learning environment or similar settings.

- Skillful in delivering dynamic class activities that emphasize active and practical learning experiences.
- Excellent pedagogical skills, sound knowledge of assessment techniques, and effective use of diverse teaching and learning strategies.
