Role Summary
The Engineering Manager will lead the engineering and maintenance teams at the brewery in Ōtāhuhu, Auckland. The focus is ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient brewery operations while driving continuous improvements and sustainability initiatives as a vital leadership team member.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead maintenance and engineering functions to maintain safe and reliable brewery operations
- Create and implement both short-term (1-year) and long-term (3-year) maintenance strategies
- Participate actively in the brewery's leadership team to enhance operational performance
- Promote continuous improvement via HEINEKEN’s World Class Manufacturing program
- Manage maintenance systems, supplier relationships, budgets, and service providers
- Drive safety, food safety, and environmental projects and compliance
- Support sustainability goals including water and energy efficiency programs
- Ensure alignment with New Zealand legislation and engineering standards
- Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and parts inventory
- Lead site and CAPEX projects with budgets up to $1 million
- Foster collaboration between operations, procurement, and engineering teams
Candidate Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
- Demonstrated leadership experience in manufacturing or operational environments
- Strong background in maintenance and engineering; FMCG industry experience preferred
- Proven ability to lead high-performance teams
- Comprehensive knowledge of maintenance planning and systems
- Experience in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or TPM
- Project management skills with experience delivering capital projects
