Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Partner across various advisory, transactional, contentious employment, and industrial relations matters.
  • Review and update standard employment contracts, handbooks, and related documents.
  • Assist with employment-related due diligence during transactions.

  • Offer assistance on contentious employment issues, including document handling and disclosure.
  • Address client inquiries on routine HR topics, such as grievances and disciplinary procedures.
  • Conduct focused legal research and manage cross-border project work.
  • Represent clients in litigation matters.
  • Coordinate billing activities and help prepare and occasionally deliver client training sessions.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by anticipating their needs and providing timely updates on case progress.
  • Adhere to risk management protocols, firm policies, professional responsibilities, and relevant laws.
  • Collaborate with firm teams in other locations, such as the Paris employment team, on fee-earning projects and other initiatives.
  • Cultivate effective relationships throughout the global network, uphold firm values, participate in firm events and CSR activities, assist in marketing and industry events, and support legal precedent development and training.

Candidate Profile

  • At least two years post-qualification experience as a Singapore-qualified lawyer; candidates with varying levels of experience are also welcome.
  • Solid understanding of employment law and applicable industry sectors.
  • Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness in approach to work.
  • Strong legal competencies including drafting, negotiation, and project management; some experience in people management and business development is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication skills, adept at clearly summarizing complex matters both verbally and in writing.
  • High IT proficiency with an eagerness to master software tools, particularly for database navigation and document management.
  • Fluency in any ASEAN language is considered beneficial.
