Position Overview
The Director of Strategy (Chief of Staff) role offers a unique opportunity to influence Fieldpiece's future by collaborating closely with the Chief Strategy & People Officer, executive leadership, and Board of Directors. This position involves contributing directly to key organizational decisions, fostering alignment across departments, and translating strategic vision into tangible business outcomes. The role balances high-level strategic planning with practical execution and requires strong leadership in facilitating planning sessions, preparing Board-level materials, managing enterprise initiatives, and coaching leaders.
The position is based in the Park City, UT office and will transition to Heber City, UT in 2027. Employees typically work a hybrid model, onsite three days weekly, with additional required in-office days. Business travel up to 25% is expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the formulation and deployment of enterprise-wide strategic plans.
- Create executive- and Board-level presentations, comprehensive reports, and strategic recommendations.
- Lead annual planning, quarterly business reviews, and leadership retreats to ensure focus and alignment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to synchronize priorities and advance execution of strategies.
- Monitor progress of strategic initiatives, measure performance, and communicate updates effectively.
- Provide coaching to organizational leaders on strategy implementation, alignment, and ongoing improvement.
- Steer cross-departmental projects aimed at enhancing business performance and organizational effectiveness.

First-Year Objectives
- Develop trusted advisor relationships with executive leadership and Board members.
- Lead successful delivery of annual strategic planning cycles and quarterly strategy evaluations.
- Enhance organizational cohesion by improving strategy deployment, result measurement, and executive communication.
- Produce impactful Board materials that facilitate informed governance decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations, or a related discipline.
- At least eight years of experience in corporate strategy, strategy execution, business transformation, Chief of Staff roles, management consulting, or equivalent strategic leadership.
- Proven expertise in designing enterprise strategies and driving strategy deployment within complex organizational structures.
- Skilled in preparing and delivering executive- and Board-level presentations and reports that inform decision making.
- Familiarity with strategy deployment methodologies such as Hoshin Kanri, Policy Deployment, OKRs, or EOS.
- Experience with Lean operating systems including Danaher Business System, Fortive Business System, or Toyota Production System.
- Exceptional abilities in executive communication, presentation, facilitation, and storytelling.
- Strong analytical skills combined with strategic thinking and structured problem-solving aptitude.
- Demonstrated capacity to influence senior executives without direct authority.
- Experience leading multi-functional initiatives spanning several business areas.
- Comprehensive understanding of continuous improvement and organizational change management principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of an MBA or advanced graduate business degree.
- Background in manufacturing, engineering, or product development sectors.
- Prior experience in management consulting or corporate strategic roles.

Work Arrangements
This is a predominantly onsite role in Kamas, Utah with hybrid working three days a week and potential additional in-office days. Up to 25% travel is involved. An office relocation to Heber City, Utah is planned for 2027.
