Position Summary

The Director of Operations is the leading operational executive responsible for managing all facets of Canadian manufacturing, production, warehousing, distribution, toolroom, maintenance, quality, and engineering across several sites. This role ensures safety, quality, delivery performance, cost control, and employee leadership while driving continuous improvement and operational strategies aligned with company growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement manufacturing, distribution, and technical strategies across Canadian locations that are aligned with global and company goals.
• Provide cohesive leadership to unify operational processes and consistent performance standards nationwide.
• Enhance operational scalability through automation, modernization, and capacity planning initiatives.
• Oversee daily operations involving injection molding, assembly, warehousing, distribution, quality, and technical support functions, ensuring efficient and safe delivery of products.
• Monitor key performance indicators including safety, quality, delivery, efficiency, inventory accuracy, cost, and scrap rates, driving lean manufacturing and Six Sigma practices.
• Lead root-cause analysis and implement lasting corrective actions to address production downtime, defects, and supply chain disruptions.
• Manage and develop company personnel including managers, supervisors, engineers, cultivating an accountable, engaged workforce oriented toward continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards such as ISO and customer requirements, championing continuous improvement in quality management systems.
• Supervise toolroom, maintenance, and engineering teams to maximize equipment reliability and tooling performance via preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Prepare and control annual budgets for production, engineering, warehousing, and distribution to optimize resource utilization and capital investments.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Planning, Customer Service, Finance, and HR to harmonize production schedules and operational priorities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline.
• At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing, including 5 years in senior management overseeing multiple departments.
• Proven track record in injection molding, production assembly, and distribution operations.
• Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experienced in building and leading high-performing teams.
• Knowledgeable with ERP/MRP systems and modern manufacturing technologies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative and forward-thinking approach.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position is primarily based at TENTE Canada’s Etobicoke facility with occasional travel to Newmarket and Schomberg. The role requires the ability to work safely in manufacturing and warehouse settings exposed to noise, vibration, chemicals, dust, and moving equipment. Physical mobility is necessary to inspect operations involving bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, climbing, and navigating production floors, with required personal protective equipment worn in designated areas.
