Role overview
This position reports directly to the CEO and serves as the primary guardian of the brand for First Aid Beauty. The ideal candidate will bring an inventive, future-focused approach and the ability to connect deeply with consumers while turning insights into campaigns that align with the brand’s mission.
The Director of Marketing will build and guide a diverse, high-performing team that works well across functions and delivers strong execution. The role spans Global Product Development, Regional Brand Marketing, Communications, Media, Social, PR, Influencer, Digital Marketing, and Consumer Engagement.
This leader will be responsible for sustaining business growth by shaping strategies that attract new consumers, strengthen brand loyalty, and launch standout products that expand the category. The role is highly visible and interacts with key partners across the industry, including press, media, and retail customers.
Primary responsibilities
- Refresh and strengthen the brand narrative and market positioning through new formulations, creative assets, and related brand work.
- Define a clear brand vision and build a bold, brand-led strategy with a distinct voice that helps modernize the brand.
- Coordinate multiple teams and functions to ensure seamless collaboration and smooth execution across North America and international markets.
- Maintain a strong, unified understanding of brand purpose and long-term brand ambition.
- Protect consistency of the First Aid Beauty identity across every consumer-facing touchpoint.
- Lead Global Product Development and support the creation of award-worthy products that remain faithful to the brand while meeting global compliance requirements.
- Partner closely with the Director of Creative so the internal studio can deliver high-quality, on-brand content across all channels.
- Study consumer behavior and expectations to anticipate needs and create messaging and programs that feel authentic and relevant.
- Track the evolving media environment and identify future-forward media models that can create a competitive edge.
- Assess the global retail landscape and shape marketing, acquisition, and retention strategies to grow revenue and profitability.
- Oversee the P&L and develop a thoughtful budget, then adjust plans as needed to support profit goals.
- Review customer insights, consumer trends, market data, and marketing benchmarks to inform successful strategy development.
- Collaborate with corporate partners and senior leaders to exchange best practices.
- Represent the brand externally with press and media while consistently reflecting the brand’s equity and standards.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in marketing or brand management, including exposure to cross-functional partners such as finance, operations, legal, and HR, plus experience across media, PR, creative, and product development.
- Prior background in beauty, preferably skincare, and consumer packaged goods is required.
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or an equivalent field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of global markets and how to manage worldwide brand programs.
- Proven people leadership experience with a track record of developing strong talent.
- Experience building strategic plans that span multiple years.
- Entrepreneurial, proactive mindset with exposure to both large organizations and smaller businesses preferred.
- Strong analytical ability with confidence in data-driven decision-making and market research methods.
- Based in Boston, preferred, or New York City, with the ability to travel about 30% of the year.
- Willingness to work in the office 2 to 3 days per week across both locations.

Location and schedule
Work location: Newton First Aid Office. The role is full time and based onsite.
Schedule: Full time, with an in-office expectation of 2 to 3 days per week at both sites.
Compensation and benefits
Estimated starting salary range: $144,000 to $190,000 per year. Total rewards may also include bonus eligibility and benefits, depending on the role and circumstances.
