Director of Finance

About the Role

Our client, a leading international corporate services and business management company headquartered in Munster, Ireland, is seeking a seasoned Director of Finance to lead its finance function. This permanent position is based in Cork, Ireland, with hybrid working options. The company operates across Ireland and the UK, generating multi-million-euro revenue from diverse B2B services including consulting, logistics, and compliance. There are plans for rapid European expansion through mergers and acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial due diligence, deal modeling, and integration efforts for upcoming mergers and acquisitions, including a pending European merger.
• Drive EBITDA growth by closely monitoring commercial profitability, focusing on high-margin revenue streams.
• Act as a strategic advisor and challenge partner to the Founder/Owner and Executive Director on corporate growth and long-term exit planning.
• Manage and mentor the finance team comprising a Finance Manager, accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and administrative staff, supporting about 60 internal employees and an extensive network of subcontractors.
• Optimize and leverage cloud-based ERP systems (such as AIQ) to enhance multi-entity integrations, automate reporting, and support international scaling.
• Ensure Cork remains the central hub for global tax efficiency, statutory reporting, and treasury management across group entities.

Candidate Profile

• Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with at least 10 years of post-qualification experience or seasoned commercial finance leadership.
• Demonstrable experience in mergers and acquisitions, transactional growth, due diligence, and financial consolidation of multi-entity businesses.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to confidently influence senior stakeholders and communicate financial insights to private business owners.
• Proficient with modern ERP platforms and process automation; experience with AIQ considered advantageous.
• In-depth knowledge of Irish and UK tax regulations, statutory compliance, and multi-currency financial operations.
