Overview
We are looking for a commercially astute Director of Business Development to spearhead growth efforts across the GCC, Levant, and select African regions. This leadership role demands an individual with extensive industry connections, strategic acumen, and a history of successfully identifying and closing significant deals within the energy and infrastructure domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Locate, cultivate, and secure fresh business prospects within specified sectors and territories.
- Oversee market research, competitor analysis, and strategic positioning activities.
- Build and nurture relationships with government entities, utilities, developers, and strategic collaborators.
- Assist with prequalification processes, tender submissions, consortium formations, and commercial negotiations.
- Lead business initiatives related to EPC, PPP, BOT, BOO, and concession-based projects.
- Collaborate with technical, commercial, and executive teams to craft winning proposals and strategies.
- Act as the company's representative at industry gatherings, client engagements, and regional forums.
- Expand and maintain strategic networks throughout the GCC, Levant, and Africa.
Experience & Requirements
- At least 15 years of professional experience in business development, project development, or commercial leadership roles.
- Deep expertise in the power sector.
- Background in Upstream and/or Midstream Oil & Gas sectors.
- Experience with Waste-to-Energy projects.
- Familiarity with Fertilizers and Petrochemicals industries.
- Strong knowledge of concessions, PPP, BOT, and project financing frameworks.
- Prior employment with CCC or Orascom Construction is highly desirable.
- Substantial professional network within GCC and/or Levant countries (including Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Libya).
- Exposure to African markets is a plus.
- Proven skills in originating and advancing high-value projects and strategic alliances.
- Robust commercial negotiation and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Fluent Arabic speaker with excellent command of English.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline required.
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate credentials are preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of EPC contracting, infrastructure development, and regional market dynamics is essential.
