About Burberry and Role Overview

As a Designer specializing in Architecture, you will be instrumental in defining the global retail landscape. Embedded within the Architecture Design Studio, your collaboration will span multiple store concepts and geographic regions, designing immersive luxury retail environments that embody Burberry's vision. This role demands both creative ingenuity and detailed architectural expertise across facades, layouts, furniture, fixtures, finishes, and experiential zones, operating within a fast-evolving, agile context.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead flagship and intricate retail design projects, advancing initial concepts, spatial planning, and innovative experiential designs.
- Develop and showcase compelling creative design proposals through sketches, renderings, and 3D modeling.
- Work independently with sound judgment to advance design deliverables with minimal supervision.
- Create thorough detailed design documentation including facades, store layouts, elevations, ceiling plans, and detailed site-specific drawings ensuring technical accuracy and brand consistency.
- Conduct thorough research and trend analyses to inspire elevated retail experiences aligned with commercial objectives.
- Produce high-quality design outputs such as mood boards, material selections, and technical drawings for coordination with internal teams and external partners.
- Manage and supervise external design studios and consultants, reviewing and directing detail packs and construction documentation.
- Source and incorporate innovative materials and techniques that balance creative expression with durability and functionality.
- Iterate creatively on design concepts incorporating feedback and contributing to a culture of design excellence.
- Demonstrate strong skills in Vectorworks and 3D modeling/rendering platforms.
- Effectively communicate visual stories and presentations to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers to enhance team capability.
- Organize and manage multiple concurrent projects effectively within a dynamic luxury retail environment.
- Possess deep knowledge of luxury retail standards, consumer behavior, and experiential brand design.
- Exhibit confidence in decision-making amidst ambiguity and independent project progression.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
- Bring at least seven years of expertise in luxury retail architectural design.
- Demonstrate practical experience relevant to architectural design within luxury retail settings.
- Show technical proficiency and strong negotiation ability with various cross-functional stakeholders.
- Stay informed about current market trends and competitor design strategies.
- Be well organized, versatile, and adaptable to changing demands.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills for effective presentations and information dissemination.
- Be a cooperative and supportive team player.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
