Design Drafter

Role Overview

The Design Drafter is responsible for creating precise and detailed technical drawings essential for manufacturing products, whether for internal use or external clients. This involves specifying exact dimensions and fastening solutions, directly collaborating with clients to grasp their requirements, and producing prints that align with their expectations using CAD tools like SolidWorks or Inventor. The role also entails participating in product development processes, managing design modifications, and redesigning components to enhance their performance and usability.

Supporting functions include assisting shop floor teams, manufacturing, and quality assurance departments, while handling multiple design projects simultaneously as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

• Associate degree in CAD or a related technical discipline
• Between two and four years of relevant experience in manufacturing and design drafting
• Familiarity with sheet metal production processes
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software for detailed design work
• Strong focus on accuracy, detail orientation, and quality assurance
• Effective communication abilities and teamwork skills
• Adaptability to dynamic work conditions and adherence to safety protocols including proper use of PPE
