Role Overview

The Research Data Analyst II supports the Center for Interdisciplinary Population & Health Research (CIPHR) by offering analytic expertise to faculty scientists and clinical investigators working on clinical trials, observational studies, community-engaged research, and program evaluations. Responsibilities include managing complex datasets, cleaning data, conducting descriptive and inferential statistical analyses, and effectively communicating findings through reports and presentations. The role demands understanding of research methodologies, strong communication skills, and teamwork dedication. After initial onboarding and training, the analyst will execute analyses independently while adhering to institutional policies and regulatory standards. The position offers continuous professional development opportunities with a focus on advanced analytics and software, especially R/Posit. Flexible working arrangements support a balanced work-life schedule with remote or hybrid options.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods analysis support to research teams and investigators.
Manage and cleanse datasets to maintain data accuracy and reliability for analysis.
Perform descriptive and inferential statistical analyses supporting research goals.
Create and apply analytic approaches tailored to specific research projects.
Interpret analytic outcomes and communicate results clearly through various formats.
Collaborate with investigators to align analytic strategies with project aims.
Ensure all analyses conform to institutional and regulatory standards and best practices.
Assist in preparing research publications, grant proposals, and scholarly documentation.
Keep abreast of new analytical methods and software to enhance research capabilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related fields such as Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or Epidemiology; Master’s preferred.
At least three years of data analysis experience, ideally within healthcare or research environments.
Proficiency in statistical software, with a preference for R/Posit.
Deep knowledge of research methodologies, data management, and statistical techniques.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to juggle multiple projects and work collaboratively in teams.
Experience with clinical and population health data is advantageous.
