Cybersecurity Policy Development Specialist

Role Overview

We seek a Cybersecurity Policy Development Specialist to enhance our organization's cyber governance and policy frameworks. This position bridges cybersecurity strategy, governance, and technology. Candidates from operational cybersecurity or engineering backgrounds aspiring to transition into a policy-oriented role are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, evaluate, and update cybersecurity policies, standards, and guidelines aligned with national frameworks and regulatory mandates.
• Convert intricate technical risks and operational knowledge into clear and practical policy frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with government entities, industry partners, and technical teams to ensure policies are feasible, implementable, and aligned with risk assessments.
• Conduct research on emerging technologies and threat vectors such as cloud computing, IoT, AI, and cryptography to guide policy formulation.
• Assist in developing cyber governance frameworks, including approaches to risk management and baseline controls.
• Advise on policy interpretation and practical implementation, effectively bridging the gap between policies and operational realities.
• Participate in cross-agency initiatives and contribute to national cybersecurity programs.

Candidate Profile

• Experience of over five years in cybersecurity, technology, or engineering disciplines, ideally with expertise in risk assessment, technology risk, security solutioning or architecture, network design, application development, IoT/embedded systems, cryptography, hardware security, mobile device management, cloud architecture and hosting, or DevSecOps/secure software delivery.
• Proficiency in translating technical topics into structured, understandable policies and standards.
• Familiarity with recognized industry frameworks.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
