Role Overview
We are currently seeking a Cyber Security Technician based in Dallas, TX, to enhance and maintain our cybersecurity defenses across systems, cloud services, operational technologies, and third-party platforms. This role includes vendor management, security assessments, employee training, and compliance improvement to uphold industry-standard cybersecurity protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and enhance cybersecurity measures across all organizational systems and environments.
- Apply security configurations and best practices to elevate security ratings and reduce risks.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity tools including endpoint protection, multi-factor authentication, email security, vulnerability management, and network defenses.
- Manage collaborations with cybersecurity vendors and service providers, reviewing compliance and security documentation.
- Conduct internal security audits including vulnerability scans, phishing simulations, and coordinate external penetration tests.
- Track and ensure timely remediation of security issues identified through assessments.
- Develop and deliver cybersecurity training for employees, promoting organizational security awareness.
- Maintain comprehensive cybersecurity policies, procedures, and documentation supporting compliance with frameworks such as NIST, CMMC, ISO 27001, and SOC 2.
- Generate and analyze reports on cybersecurity posture, compliance, and vulnerabilities.
- Be available for unpredictable travel and work outside normal hours during incidents or emergencies.
Qualifications and Skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or related technical roles.
- Solid knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, threat management, and protective measures.
- Hands-on experience with endpoint protection platforms, multi-factor authentication, vulnerability scanning, email security solutions, and Microsoft 365 security tools.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities to coordinate with multiple teams and vendors.
- Preferred certifications include CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Security Certifications, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), CISSP (preferred), and Cisco or Fortinet certifications.
- Familiarity with cloud security, compliance frameworks, network security fundamentals, and firewall technologies.
- Ability to explain technical cybersecurity topics to non-technical audiences.
Compensation and Benefits
Annual salary ranges between $70,000 and $90,000, with an exempt status.
