About the role
U-Haul is looking for a friendly, energetic Customer Service Representative who enjoys working with people and supporting customers throughout their rental experience. In this role, you will be a key part of a cooperative team, representing U-Haul’s service standards while helping customers with equipment, rentals, and general product information. The company also provides training on the job.
Compensation and hiring incentives
U-Haul follows a “hire fast, pay fast” approach, which means you may be able to begin work and receive pay on the same day through a hands-on working interview. A hiring bonus of $100 is offered. In addition, you can receive a $300 cash bonus immediately after finishing the U-Haul Equipment Inspection and Verification step through the 1-2-3 Punch Certification Program at retail stores.

Key responsibilities
- Support customers both inside and outside the U-Haul center with products and services.
- Operate smartphone-based U-Scan tools to handle rentals and inventory tasks.
- Move U-Haul trucks and trailers and connect them as needed.
- Wash, check, and inspect equipment on the lot, including fluid-level checks.
- Respond to customer questions and explain available products and services.
- Create rental invoices and process returned equipment.
- Install hitches and trailer wiring.
- Fill propane tanks, with certification provided after joining.
- Operate a forklift, with certification provided after joining.
- Take on additional tasks as assigned.
- Continue learning through U-Haul University and ongoing company education.
Minimum qualifications
- A valid driver’s licence and a record that can be maintained in good standing.
- High school completion or an equivalent credential.
Work environment
The job may involve moderate safety-related risks or discomforts. You may work near moving machinery, fumes, or irritating chemicals and may need to wear protective equipment such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.
Physical requirements
This position can require extended periods of standing or staying in one place, moving indoors and outdoors, reaching items at different heights, and handling equipment that weighs at least 50 lbs, either with or without assistance.
