Role Overview
The Cost Estimation Manager will lead the creation of precise capital expenditure (CAPEX) forecasts, project budgets, cash flow projections, and life-cycle costing for various projects including new developments, expansions, and upgrades at Essar Ports. This role is pivotal in aiding investment decisions and driving cost-efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities
- Estimate project costs spanning marine civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Formulate budgets and CAPEX for new ventures and expansion projects.
- Compile Bills of Quantities (BOQ), assess material quantities, and analyze tender pricing.
- Evaluate vendor quotations, conduct benchmarking, and perform life cycle cost assessments.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives using value engineering and rigorous risk evaluations.
- Track and analyze budget usage, manage deviations, and assess changes in project scope.
- Develop project cash flow forecasts and contribute to financial feasibility analysis.
- Create and update cost databases, management information systems, and reporting tools.
- Collaborate closely with departments such as Finance, Procurement, Technical Services, EPC contractors, and consultants.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies and relevant industry standards.
Qualifications & Experience
- Possess a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
- Bring 10 to 15 years of relevant experience within the infrastructure, EPC, or port sectors.
