Role Overview

We invite applications from accomplished lawyers with over six years of post-qualification experience to join our thriving corporate and commercial team as a Senior Associate. This role suits a versatile corporate lawyer with proven expertise in capital raising and mergers & acquisitions. You will collaborate with a team of outstanding legal professionals to deliver superior service and remarkable client experiences.

Our client portfolio is diverse, encompassing capital raising stages (Seed to Series B and beyond), business sales and purchases, employee incentive schemes, shareholder arrangements, share redemptions, corporate structuring, financing, governance, and comprehensive commercial matters. The role primarily focuses on transactional work related to capital raising and M&A.

The New Zealand division operates fully remotely, supplemented by periodic offsite meetings and social events. Local candidates in Christchurch can access a coworking space. The role includes a home office setup allowance for comfort and productivity.

Candidate Profile

• At least six years PQE with solid corporate and commercial law experience, particularly in capital raising transactions, catering to SMEs, founder-led, and growth-stage companies.
• Proven track record advising private entities on equity and convertible instrument capital raising.
• In-depth understanding of SME challenges involving growth, governance, investor relations, and operational scaling.
• Skilled in drafting and negotiating investment agreements, governance documents, and associated corporate/commercial contracts.
• Ability to simplify complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders in a clear and commercial manner.
• Strong project leadership capable of independently managing cases while juggling multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent interpersonal aptitude to establish trusted partnerships with clients and colleagues.
• Self-driven with collaborative spirit to thrive in a high-performing team.
