About the Role

Join Sagicor Bank Jamaica Limited's Centralized Collateral & Securities Team as a Corporate Securities Officer in Kingston. This opportunity offers a stable and expanding environment in the financial services industry, where you will manage the preparation and delivery of security documentation for credit facilities within Corporate, Commercial Banking, and SME units.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare all necessary security documents aligned with approved credit proposals and service agreements.
  • Handle processing of security packages for stamping, registration, and official recording at government entities.
  • Maintain custodial responsibility for security documents within assigned portfolios per company policies.
  • Liaise with both external and internal Legal Counsel regarding off-site document preparation.
  • Verify that security documents contain all relevant information.
  • Review returned executed documents from Legal Counsel for completeness.
  • Calculate and ensure the collection of fees associated with processing and registration, directing funds to appropriate accounts.
  • Prepare documents to release securities and draft letters to institutions to discharge bank interests upon request.
  • Request security document returns if Letters of Undertaking remain unmet within deadlines.
  • Ensure all executed documents are properly executed and registrable to avoid issues during security perfection.
  • Initiate and supervise the stamping, registration, and recording processes required for security perfection.
  • Update collateral details for credit facilities in systems such as T24 and the National Security in Personal Property (NSIPP) registry.
  • Prepare contingent liabilities reports for assigned branches or units.
  • Manage requests related to Bonds, Guarantees, and Letters of Undertakings.
  • Draft notices of termination and submit cancellation requests for satisfied financial instruments.
  • Compile regular securities, disbursement, and regulatory reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
  • Adhere to dual custody policies for assigned keys and combinations, maintaining security at all times.
  • Complete collateral audit confirmations and manage file indexing and archiving according to bank guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned periodically.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Banking, Management Studies, or a related qualification, or at minimum a Diploma in Business Management from an accredited institution.
  • Paralegal studies completion considered an advantage.
  • Minimum of three years banking experience, including at least two years focused on documentation, collateral, and securities.
  • Proficient in software tools including word processors and spreadsheet applications.
  • Extensive understanding of established policies for preparation, execution, and perfection of corporate and commercial security documentation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with the bank’s policies, credit facility operations, and lending processes.
  • Capacity to work independently and handle pressure in customer-focused and collaborative settings.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintains confidentiality and displays flexibility as needed.
