We are seeking a skilled Content Designer to create clear, accessible, and user-focused content that supports people's interactions with government services. Responsibilities

As a Content Designer, you will join multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and refine content throughout the user journey, ensuring all information and services are easy to comprehend and use. Your tasks include creating content for multiple channels such as GOV.UK pages, digital services, application forms, emails, letters, navigation, and in-service messaging.

You will base your content decisions on evidence derived from user research, analytics, and stakeholder engagement. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across disciplines and engage stakeholders to develop, test, and improve content that complies with GOV.UK and DWP standards and design systems.

Participation in a vibrant community of practice will allow you to share best practices and benefit from professional development through peer reviews, community events, and learning opportunities.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in crafting accessible and plain English content while adhering to content processes, patterns, and style guides.
• Ability to utilize quantitative and qualitative data to inform content decisions.
• Experience employing various methods to present, explain, and test content effectively.
• Active involvement in content review communities and openness to peer feedback.
• Proven record of collaboration with professionals from diverse disciplines.
• Advocacy for user-centered, evidence-based content practices with relevant stakeholders.
• Understanding of how your work contributes to organizational goals and outcomes.

Additional Information

• Location options include digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, or Sheffield, with hybrid working arrangements (60% office and 40% remote).
• Salary up to 346,547 per annum.
• Generous civil service pension scheme with employer contributions of 28.97%.
• Annual leave package starting at 26 days and increasing to 31 days based on tenure, plus up to 3 additional flexi-time days per month, and standard public holidays.
