Role Overview

This full-time, permanent position for a CAD Technician supports GB Projects' expanding production team by enhancing technical capacity. The role goes beyond traditional CAD duties, requiring production of precise manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD Inventor based on client designs and specifications. Additional responsibilities include managing and maintaining product bills of materials (BOMs), assisting in project estimation with training provided, and aiding procurement by sourcing materials and suppliers. Flexibility is essential, as tasks will vary daily within a close-knit technical team.

Key Responsibilities

Create detailed manufacturing drawings from client CAD files and design specifications using AutoCAD Inventor.
Engage with clients to clarify technical details when necessary.
Support production handover processes by communicating requirements and procedures.
Provide technical guidance and respond to manufacturing inquiries during production.
Develop and maintain accurate product BOMs and resource methods in the company's ERP system (Emax).
Assist in estimating new projects by evaluating client designs and proposing cost-effective alternatives, with full training.
Contribute to procurement by helping identify suitable materials and suppliers for upcoming projects.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum 2 years experience in a similar CAD or technical role.
Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Inventor software.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings confidently.
Competency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Experience in joinery manufacturing and knowledge of materials/construction methods is advantageous.
Familiarity with Woodwork for Inventor and manufacturing estimating, particularly in joinery, is desirable.
