Role Overview
We are seeking disciplined and motivated Commis Chefs to join our team, specifically for Continental, Asian, and Indian Curry cuisines. The role involves supporting the Executive Chef and senior kitchen staff in preparing food, assisting with large-scale production, and ensuring seamless event delivery. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in premium catering and diverse event settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks including mise en place, ingredient preparation, portioning, and cooking support to ensure stations are ready for events.
- Carry out duties assigned by senior chefs across hot and cold kitchens, plating, and food finishing stages.
- Maintain consistent quality in taste, presentation, hygiene, and portion control following kitchen standards.
- Support event day operations by helping with packing, dispatch preparation, live counter arrangements, and other culinary needs.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper storage in workstations during shifts.
- Collaborate with chefs, stewards, and support staff to facilitate smooth kitchen workflow.
- Engage actively in training and development, adhere to SOPs, and enhance skills in various cuisines, cooking techniques, and event styles.
- Strictly follow food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene protocols at all times.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as a commis, junior chef, line cook, or kitchen trainee is preferred.
- Basic familiarity with kitchen operations, ingredient handling, and cooking methods.
- A motivated learner with the ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.
- Good physical stamina, discipline, and keen attention to detail.
- Formal culinary training or hotel management qualifications are considered advantageous.
- Availability to work long shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and event days.
- Positive mindset and dedication to high-quality food preparation and service.
