Role Overview
With the current Chair's scheduled retirement in late 2026, Cookie Time is searching for a distinguished independent Chair to lead the Board through its next stage of growth. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with dedicated shareholders, an experienced Board, and a high-performing executive team to provide strong governance leadership and contribute to shaping the company’s long-term strategic direction.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience as a Board Chair or senior independent director.
- Exceptional commercial insight and strategic leadership skills.
- Proven track record with privately owned, founder-led, or fast-growth enterprises.
- Familiarity with New Zealand manufacturing, preferably within food production.
- Ability to cultivate trusted relationships while offering constructive challenge and independent governance.
Additional desirable backgrounds include FMCG, consumer brands, export-driven companies, and commercial or legal expertise, although these are not required.
Opportunity Highlights
This is an uncommon chance to lead the Board of one of New Zealand’s most celebrated entrepreneurial companies with strong cultural values and promising growth prospects. The Chair will play a vital role in supporting international expansion, guiding governance evolution, and preserving Cookie Time’s core culture that has driven success for more than 40 years.
Additional Information
Applications are sought by Monday 17 August 2026. Interested candidates may seek a confidential discussion by contacting Leanne Crozier, Director at Decipher Group.
