By evaluating applicants on these dimensions, Casper supports admission committees in selecting a more diverse and prepared student body.

As a Casper Test Rater, you will play a pivotal role in reviewing and scoring test responses, influencing admission decisions for New Zealand educational programs. The position is flexible, remote, and available to individuals across various backgrounds residing within New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete a scientifically developed onboarding certification process through virtual training modules, including implicit bias mitigation techniques.
• Participate in ongoing refresher training sessions and annual mandatory paid recertification to maintain high rating accuracy and consistency.
• Evaluate written and video applicant responses by comparing them with a broad pool of test takers and assigning scores according to established guidelines.
• Offer constructive feedback to enhance the Casper test content, platforms, and overall assessment effectiveness.

Compensation and Work Schedule

Payments for completed work are processed monthly via Airwallex. Although there is no guaranteed minimum workload, raters have access to quarterly testing schedules and can select work periods that fit their availability. Compensation may also include activities such as training and contributing to research projects.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a citizen of New Zealand and currently residing within the country.
• Possess a personal desktop or laptop computer for conducting rating tasks.
• Have no intentions to enroll in a program using Casper as part of admissions within the next two to three years.
• Exhibit strong written communication skills to articulate scoring decisions and report concerns effectively.
• Demonstrate core soft skills, including communication, self-awareness, professionalism, and empathy.

Application and Certification Process

• Complete an online application form assessing basic qualifications.
• If eligible, undertake a shortened version of the Casper test and a reading comprehension assessment to evaluate alignment with required skills.
• Engage in a one-on-one video interview with a member of the rating team to verify information and answer questions.
• Complete a paid, comprehensive online training program covering fundamental rating principles, quality standards, and implicit bias training.
• Successfully pass a calibration assessment verifying alignment with benchmark ratings to achieve certification as a Casper Test Rater.
