Business Analyst - Project Control Officer

Role Overview

We are seeking a meticulous and insightful Business Analyst / Project Control Officer to become an integral part of a prominent Financial Services team based in downtown Toronto. This role focuses on facilitating organizational transformation by leveraging automation and data analytics to support informed decision-making.

Primary Responsibilities

• Convert complex data into actionable intelligence through the use of advanced Excel techniques and business intelligence tools; design and maintain intuitive dashboards.
• Monitor multiple project streams and initiatives, compiling regular status reports for stakeholders and governance committees.
• Identify opportunities to enhance technological workflows by proposing process improvements and automation strategies.
• Engage with stakeholders to collect business requirements, support discussions, and document effective solutions.
• Oversee Market Data service requests handling including additions, modifications, onboarding, and offboarding procedures.

Candidate Profile

• Experience: 2 to 3 years as a Business Analyst and Project Control Officer.
• Expertise in advanced Excel for sophisticated data manipulation.
• Familiarity with project management software such as MS Planner and MS Project.
• Demonstrated proficiency in building BI-based reporting and analytical outputs.
• Background in Banking or Financial Services is mandatory.
• Strong analytical abilities with excellent communication and persuasion skills; a keen interest in artificial intelligence and automation technologies is advantageous.
• Educational Qualification: Postsecondary degree related to the field or equivalent professional experience.

Additional Information

• Work Location: Downtown Toronto with hybrid schedule (predominantly onsite with 1 day remote per week, increased remote days during initial training).
• Contract Term: 2 years with potential extension and transition to full-time employment.
• Compensation: For T4 employees, the hourly rate ranges from $32 to $38; for Independent Contractors, $42 to $45 per hour.
