Role Overview

PSD Technology Service operates a strategic program to transform digital services to establish PSD Scotland as a forefront digital organization aligned with government technology strategies. The SCI Diabetes team delivers the national diabetes system which aids healthcare professionals and patients in Scotland in managing diabetes care.

The Business Analyst will work within the SCI-Diabetes team’s business analysis function, mainly in an Agile environment. Responsibilities include evaluating and prioritizing change and new feature requests, creating business cases, clarifying requirements for developers, tracking progress, removing blockers, supporting testing, and building user training to maximize benefits of updates. Collaboration with diabetic care providers across Scotland is crucial to gather feedback on service impact and improvements.

Required Skills and Experience

Proven ability to gather, analyze, and present complex, multi-faceted business and clinical user requirements.
Skilled in converting findings into detailed requirement specifications that effectively communicate between user groups and software development teams.
Experience tracking project tasks and resources throughout the development lifecycle of complex bespoke clinical IT projects.
Capability to assist in developing business analysis methodologies and procedures.
Competency in system testing, incident monitoring, and reporting within testing phases.
Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating honesty, integrity, compassion, tact, and persuasion when interacting with others.
Ability to independently organize and prioritize workload to meet strict deadlines.

Employment Details

This is a full-time fixed term contract (36 hours per week) or NHS secondment until March 31, 2027. NHS applicants will be offered secondments first; non-NHS applicants will be considered for fixed-term contracts or secondments. Eligibility to work and maintain work rights in the UK throughout employment is required. Successful candidates will undertake in-person pre-employment checks before starting.
