About Rocket Lab

Rocket Lab is a full-spectrum space company providing responsive launch services, spacecraft design, manufacturing, and satellite components. Our launches support scientific missions, Earth observation, climate action, national security, and pioneering technology. Our Electron rocket is among the most frequently launched U.S. rockets, with over 230 satellites delivered to orbit. We are currently developing Neutron, a medium-lift reusable rocket, and our Space Systems division designs satellites and components for missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

About Space Systems at Rocket Lab

The Space Systems team is responsible for designing and producing satellites and satellite components, including solar panels, flight software, reaction wheels, star trackers, separation systems, radios, and more. The team serves commercial, government, and defense sectors by delivering complete satellites as well as hardware and software supporting satellite missions.

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in hardware development or electronic test engineering
  • Practical experience with instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, accelerometers, thermocouples, RTDs, and 4-20mA sensors
  • Experience in aerospace environmental testing methods including vibration, shock, thermal, and thermal vacuum testing
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting electronic hardware and using electrical test and data acquisition equipment
  • Capability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented and autonomous environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication as well as documentation skills

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience designing hardware through to production
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, C++, or Matlab with at least 3 years’ experience
  • Knowledge of FPGA-based systems and high-voltage electronics
  • Familiarity with PCB design software like Altium, Eagle, or KiCAD
  • Experience creating automated testing equipment and data analysis tools
  • Understanding of root cause analysis methods such as FMECA
  • Background in aerospace or space industry environments
  • Experience supporting manufacturing lines and training technicians
