Role Overview

The Associate Director - Sourcing will lead the sourcing function for International Brands (including Next, Nautica, Desigual, Sisley) based in Bengaluru. This senior management role involves directing the sourcing strategy to build a nimble and profitable supply chain—both domestic and international—to support ambitious growth targets through 2029. The position champions shifting sourcing preference toward domestic suppliers to enhance margins while assuring excellence in garment engineering, fit, and manufacture.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement a robust sourcing plan covering all international brand portfolios to optimize operations and improve margins, focusing on increasing domestic sourcing.
Maintain a diversified and balanced supplier network across key product areas such as knits, wovens, denim, and bottoms, supporting growth brands like Next and Nautica.
Scout and integrate vendors that meet international quality standards and offer rapid replenishment capabilities.
Lead high-level negotiations on pricing, capacity, and service-level agreements with vendors.
Supervise product execution stages from design presentations through to final delivery.
Manage technical processes including adapting tech packs by converting international specs to local sizing and preparing precise bill of materials.
Oversee sampling and fit approval cycles to ensure brand consistency and quality.
Collaborate with production teams to meet go-to-market deadlines by streamlining lead times and overcoming bottlenecks.
Set construction standards and conduct mass run audits to uphold safety and quality benchmarks.
Anticipate supply chain risks and develop contingency plans covering domestic and import sources, including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and China.

Stakeholders

Internal partners include design, quality and fit, planning/merchandising, business finance, and legal teams.
External interactions involve global brand principals, manufacturing partners, and industry agencies.

Qualifications and Experience

MBA or Master's degree in Fashion Management, Textile Engineering, or Business Management.
12 to 15+ years' extensive experience in sourcing, product development, and vendor management within apparel, with expertise spanning domestic and international sourcing.
Comprehensive understanding of garment technology and product execution management.

Required Skills

Proven expertise in apparel sourcing, vendor negotiations, and production oversight.
Technical proficiency in garment engineering, technical pack interpretation, and quality assurance standards.
Strategic mindset capable of translating brand objectives into scalable supply chain solutions.
Strong negotiation skills, ability to foster cross-cultural relationships, and effective team leadership.
