Role Overview

The Assistant Warehouse Manager based in Altona, VIC, is a full-time, on-site position pivotal to supporting the warehouse’s daily operations. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, this primarily office-based role involves coordinating warehouse activities, managing communication, preparing operational reports, overseeing staff rosters and shift planning, monitoring productivity, updating warehouse systems, and assisting with administrative tasks. Additionally, the role requires spending time on the warehouse floor to support operations teams, contribute to process improvements, investigate operational issues, handle stock-related responsibilities, and ensure adherence to procedures. This position offers comprehensive exposure to warehouse operations, ideal for those aiming to build a career in logistics and operational leadership.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Applicants must have a valid visa granting full work rights in Australia.
• A bachelor's degree is mandatory.
• Previous experience in warehousing or logistics is essential.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, warehouse management systems, and other business software, are required.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with a professional demeanor towards internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient analytical skills capable of report preparation, operational performance monitoring, and identifying improvement opportunities.
• High accuracy and attention to detail when managing operational data and documentation.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team framework.
• Flexibility to assist warehouse floor activities as needed.
• Experience within 3PL, warehousing, or distribution sectors is highly advantageous.
• Skills in staff rostering, KPI reporting, inventory management, and warehouse administration will be considered a strong asset.
