Role overview
Nua Healthcare Services is a major care provider in Ireland, delivering residential care, supported living, day services, and community outreach for children and adults with a variety of complex support needs. The Assistant Support Worker will help deliver person-centred care to people using these services, with a focus on helping them grow in confidence, build independence, and live meaningful lives in their communities.
What the role involves
- Support individuals to organise and manage everyday routines and planned activities.
- Help people take part in their local community and get involved in social activities.
- Assist with education, skill-building, and progress towards personal goals and outcomes.
- Encourage independent living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, appointment attendance, and maintaining family and social relationships.
- Work in line with company policies, procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice.
- Adapt to flexible shift patterns within a 24-hour, 7-day service so the needs of service users are met.
- Carry out additional duties that are reasonable and appropriate to the post, even if they are not listed in the main duties section.
Experience and profile sought
The organisation is looking for compassionate, motivated, and committed people who want to support others to live independently. Formal qualifications are not required because full training and continuing development will be provided. Previous experience in a support role, or relevant life experience, would be helpful but is not mandatory. Applicants should bring a positive attitude, willingness to learn, strong communication skills, and the ability to build good relationships with individuals, families, colleagues, and other professionals. A full driving licence is required, or the candidate must be actively working towards obtaining one.
Working pattern and salary
This is a frontline, onsite role based in Fethard, County Tipperary, Ireland. The salary range is €30,000 to €35,000. The post involves shift work across a 7-day roster and may require flexibility across a range of shifts.

Service focus
