Role Overview
The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for aiding the Restaurant Manager in managing day-to-day activities of the resort's dining establishment(s). This includes upholding superior food quality, exceptional guest service, hygienic standards, and operational productivity. The position requires leading staff, managing guest interactions, overseeing inventory and cost efficiency, and boosting revenue and guest satisfaction to align with the wellness resort’s brand identity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and management of daily restaurant functions such as opening and closing routines, shift organization, and floor supervision.
- Enforce standard operating procedures related to service, hygiene, safety, and guest management consistently.
- Collaborate with kitchen, stewarding, and service personnel to guarantee seamless service and timely delivery of orders.
- Welcome and check on guests to ensure a warm, wellness-centered dining experience.
- Address guest concerns and feedback with professionalism, ensuring quick resolution and follow-up.
- Provide training and mentorship to staff on service etiquette, thorough knowledge of the menu emphasizing healthy and wellness choices, and effective upselling methods.
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and coaching of restaurant team members including servers, hosts, and runners.
- Lead pre-shift meetings, assess staff performance, and offer immediate feedback and coaching.
- Maintain high standards for staff grooming, attendance, and discipline adhering to resort protocols.
- Oversee inventory levels, aid in supply orders, and enforce correct stock rotation and storage methods.
- Track daily sales figures, manage cash handling, billing preciseness, and assist with payroll and labor cost reporting.
- Implement controls to reduce wastage, theft, and operational losses through frequent audits.
- Ensure compliance with FSSAI standards, relevant health regulations, and internal hygiene policies.
- Perform regular inspections of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety across all dining and service areas.
- Coordinate fire and safety drills with security and maintenance departments.
- Support promotional campaigns, seasonal menu rollouts, and wellness dining package initiatives.
- Analyze sales patterns and contribute suggestions to enhance average spending per guest, table occupancy, and repeat visits.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Hospitality, Hotel Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in restaurant operations, including a minimum of 1 year in an assistant managerial or supervisory capacity.
- Background working in hotels, resorts, or wellness/health-oriented dining settings is highly valued.
- Strong expertise in food and beverage service, menu development, inventory management, and proficiency with POS systems like Toast or Micros.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) and basic accounting and reporting capabilities.
