Role Overview
The Assistant Marketing Communications Manager will spearhead communication strategies for designated revenue channels and lifestyle portfolios within both hotels. Key responsibilities focus on campaign oversight, public and media relations, content creation, influencer engagement, media planning, partnerships, and storytelling for F&B, spa, and lifestyle campaigns. The role supports higher management in coordinating campaigns, agencies, media hosting, and team management, serving as second-in-command for the marketing communications team.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and manage communications and media calendars aligned with business units and stakeholders to ensure on-time execution.
- Develop public relations angles, promotional materials, influencer guidelines, and compelling content to achieve positive exposure across local, regional, and international media.
- Create and oversee media plans tailored to brand positioning and campaign objectives.
- Review and ensure accuracy and brand consistency in communications materials including press releases, social media content, sales presentations, and advertising assets.
- Lead award submissions, gather votes or nominations, and promote successes with stakeholders.
- Identify and establish partnerships with lifestyle, luxury, F&B, wellness, cultural, and corporate brands to enhance guest experiences.
- Manage and lead lifestyle and public relations portfolios, including select F&B outlets, spa and wellness initiatives, partnerships, collaborations, festive events, and hotel narratives.
- Coordinate media engagement activities like familiarization trips, tastings, interviews, activations, and hosted events to stimulate beneficial exposure.
- Create content strategies supporting restaurant and bar positioning, focusing on culinary concepts and events.
- Maintain current knowledge of hospitality, lifestyle, dining, wellness, and media trends to discover strategic opportunities.
- Conceptualize and deliver integrated communication campaigns, collaborating with the Director, agencies, digital partners, and business stakeholders.
- Facilitate hotel-hosted event marketing ensuring strong media presence, guest participation, and post-event analysis.
- Prepare detailed campaign briefs, timelines, and creative requirements for photography, videography, and partner outputs.
- Manage multichannel campaign launches covering website, social platforms, email marketing, in-house displays, media outreach, partner channels, and advertisements.
- Analyze campaign outcomes and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Conduct market research on consumer trends, competitor activities, hospitality developments, and lifestyle markets.
- Evaluate public relations, media monitoring, social feedback, and campaign data to inform business strategies.
- Analyze competitor communications for differentiation opportunities.
- Oversee agency, partner, and vendor relationships ensuring clear project scopes, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Host partners and industry professionals to nurture collaborations.
- Assist in negotiating value-adding partnerships to boost brand relevance and guest satisfaction.
- Manage budgets: monitor campaign expenditures, track quotations and supplier costs, ensure budget forecasts and procurement compliance.
- Support annual budget preparation by compiling activity requirements and historical expenditure.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure timely processing of contracts, purchase requests, invoices, and accruals.
- Adhere to all hotel and departmental policies and procedures consistently.
- Participate in additional sales and marketing projects and perform other management-assigned duties as needed.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Hospitality, Tourism, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related fields.
- Three to six years of marketing communications or public relations experience, preferably in hospitality, travel, lifestyle, luxury, F&B, or agency sectors.
- Proven leadership experience in team management.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are advantageous.
- Familiarity with AI marketing tools such as Claude and ChatGPT for content creation, presentations, and project management.
- Strong grasp of marketing communications disciplines including branding, public relations, events, and advertising.
- Well-acquainted with hospitality market trends and local/regional media and influencer networks.
- Excellent writing, editing, media pitching, and content planning expertise.
- Effective stakeholder management skills, capable of collaborating across various business units and senior leaders.
- Skilled in briefing agencies, designers, photographers, and vendors with clarity and precision.
- Analytical abilities with experience in media monitoring, influencer impact evaluation, and campaign analytics.
- Creative, proactive, commercially aware with a passion for hospitality and guest service excellence.
- Flexible, collaborative, and able to work independently in a dynamic environment.
