Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Assembler at our Stratford, Ontario location. The role involves assembling, testing, and winding coils utilized in electrical devices and instruments, following wiring diagrams, sample coils, or detailed work orders. Tasks include operating coil-winding machines and using hand tools with guidance from experienced team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret wiring diagrams and work orders to determine coil specifications and wire requirements
  • Set up and adjust coil-forming devices on winding machines
  • Thread wires through tensioners and guides; bend wires to create leads
  • Manage wire tension and count turns during winding process
  • Apply insulation wraps between coil layers for protection
  • Trim wires to form leads and shape coil ends as needed
  • Solder lead wires to terminals and perform quality checks on coils
  • Apply varnish or insulation materials to reinforce coil integrity

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant coil winding or assembly experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of electrical components and insulation materials
  • Commitment to product quality and adherence to health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work collaboratively under guidance from experienced coil winders
  • Willingness to learn new tools and methods
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in winding processes
