About CSBio
CSBio, established in 1993, specializes in peptide contract manufacturing with an emphasis on cGMP production. Over the years, the company has advanced from producing automated synthesizers to operating custom peptide facilities serving research organizations and pharmaceutical clients worldwide. Their Menlo Park facility expanded in 2014 with a new building dedicated to state-of-the-art cGMP peptide production. The company achieved FDA recommendation for commercial drug substance manufacturing in 2017 and recently increased clinical production capacity in Milpitas, CA in 2023.
Position Overview
We seek a motivated AI Software Engineering Intern to help enhance and develop internal AI tools supporting inventory management, purchasing optimization, and manufacturing decision-making. The candidate will be instrumental in building full-stack AI features, collaborating directly with company leadership and stakeholders, and working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to clarify goals and convert ambiguous requirements into effective software solutions.
- Develop new functionalities for an internal AI platform utilizing Python, Streamlit, Claude Code, and Codex technologies.
- Integrate and optimize data workflows interfacing with the MISys Manufacturing REST API and managing the company's Bronze-Silver-Gold data architecture.
- Create user-friendly pages for inventory visibility, purchasing strategy, and AI-driven insights.
- Independently troubleshoot issues across data extraction, caching, error handling, and deployment processes.
- Embrace rapid iteration by prototyping, testing, and refining features quickly.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Proven ability to work autonomously in ambiguous and dynamic settings.
- Self-driven learning approach with capability to experiment and resolve challenges without detailed guidance.
- Preferred skills include Python programming, web application development (especially Streamlit), experience with APIs and JSON data manipulation, familiarity with OpenAI API or other large language model/AI tools, and exposure to manufacturing, ERP/MRP, or supply chain systems.

Additional Information
This role is strictly onsite in Menlo Park or Milpitas, CA. Only candidates who have graduated with the required bachelor's degree and can commit full time for a 3-month duration will be considered.
