About the Role
This 12-month fixed-term part-time position is based in Ōtautahi / Christchurch and provides a fantastic opportunity to become part of the administrative team at Mahaanui Kurataiao Ltd. Reporting to the Pou Whenua, the role supports the efficient delivery of environmental and cultural initiatives that benefit the Ngāi Tahu whānui, ensuring smooth operational flow that enriches both present and future generations.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience in administrative or office support roles with strong organisational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to listen carefully and follow instructions accurately.
- Possesses a good proficiency in te reo Māori or shows a committed interest to develop and apply this language professionally.
- Proactive and adaptable approach with enthusiasm for team collaboration to reach common objectives.
- Comfortable and capable in using Microsoft Office suite and other digital platforms to handle information, scheduling, and communications effectively.
- Proven skills in managing relationships and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Clear and effective communicator, both in writing and verbally, able to interact with a wide audience.
- Open to embracing Ngāi Tahu values and aspirations and keen to deepen cultural knowledge within te ao Māori.
About Mahaanui Kurataiao Ltd
Mahaanui Kurataiao Ltd plays an instrumental role in supporting the Rūnanga's goal to foster environmental stewardship across their region. This includes providing expert environmental, cultural, and strategic advice to local governments, governmental bodies, and private organizations, often involving submissions, reports, and co-developed planning with regional and district authorities and departments.
The company also advises and assists the Rūnanga directly through research, briefings, and policy development, extending support to Papatipu Rūnanga for various projects. Engagement with Papatipu Rūnanga forms a central aspect of their advisory services.
