Job description
Overview
We are partnering with a reputable technology company servicing SMB and Public Sector clients. This role centers on account management rather than pure new business development, focusing on nurturing and expanding an existing customer portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and grow approximately 100 existing accounts within the Public Sector, including councils, schools, and local organizations.
- Rekindle relations with inactive or under-utilized customers.
- Spot opportunities for upselling and cross-selling across a diverse technology product line.
- Schedule meetings and create new revenue opportunities within assigned accounts.
- Collaborate with specialists for solution sales and deal closure.
- Maintain ownership over account and revenue relationships.
- Develop account pipeline and keep detailed account plans updated.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in account management within the public sector—particularly in technology or related services.
- Comfortable managing and expanding existing client bases.
- Strong commercial acumen, including understanding pricing, margins, and deal values.
- Ability to identify opportunities and involve relevant experts in the sales process.
- Confident in engaging multiple stakeholders at various levels.
Additional Details
- Targets are realistic, aiming for around £800,000, encompassing renewals and upsells.
- Candidates will inherit an active revenue base, so there is no need to develop accounts from scratch.
- Success is driven by consistent effort rather than sporadic large deals.
- Compensation includes a base salary of £38,000 to £48,000, with an on-target earning potential of approximately £40,000 in additional commission.
- Benefits include a company car or car allowance.
- Work schedule is hybrid, requiring 1–2 days per week in a regional office in Kent, with the rest in the field.
- The role offers a high-volume, relationship-oriented sales environment within a stable and well-established company.
