Working Student – AI Engineering (m/f/d)

About the role

As a working student in AI engineering, you will help build and run AI-enabled products for the financial services sector. The role sits at the intersection of software, data, and artificial intelligence, giving you practical exposure to modern AI tooling while you support scalable solutions for real business problems.

Evaluation and data work

• Set up and operate evaluation pipelines for systems powered by large language models.
• Review performance metrics, spot unusual cases, and keep an eye on output quality.
• Prepare and maintain Golden and Silver datasets.
• Use evaluation frameworks and related tools, such as Langfuse.

Engineering and automation

• Write Python scripts to support AI workflows, including API handling, data processing, and monitoring.
• Assist with maintaining and enhancing existing systems.

Collaboration

• Work together with engineering teams to improve overall solution quality.
• Contribute proactively when tackling technical challenges.

What you bring

• You are currently enrolled in Computer Science, Data Science, or a comparable program.
• You have solid Python skills beyond using notebooks.
• You have worked with REST APIs, including JSON handling and authentication.
• You have a basic understanding of machine learning.
• You are familiar with Git-based workflows.
• You can assess AI outputs critically, including both code and data.
• You approach problems in a structured and solution-oriented way.
• You communicate very well in English; German is an added advantage.

Nice to have

• Experience using LLM APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic.
• Exposure to vector databases such as Qdrant.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants.
