Role Overview

As a Vehicle Inspector, you will evaluate vehicles in detail and identify mechanical, cosmetic, structural, and roadworthiness concerns. The role calls for strong technical judgment, careful documentation, and the ability to spot issues that may not be immediately visible.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out thorough inspections covering mechanical condition, cosmetic condition, and road-test performance.
• Review the engine, transmission, braking system, suspension, and electrical components for faults or wear.
• Operate OBD scanners and other diagnostic tools to uncover hidden problems.
• Identify accident history, flood exposure, structural damage, and possible odometer tampering.
• Take photographs and compile precise digital inspection reports.
• Escalate suspected fraud or serious undisclosed defects to management.

Qualifications and Experience

The role requires a diploma or degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline. Candidates should have at least 2 years of practical experience working as a vehicle inspector, automotive technician, or mechanic. A valid UAE driving license is mandatory because road tests will involve a variety of vehicle types. Applicants must also have hands-on understanding of mechanical, electrical, and structural vehicle systems.

Preferred Background

Additional value will be given to candidates who have inspected vehicles for platforms such as CarSwitch, Cars24, Copart, or Emirates Auction. Training or certification in automotive diagnostics, use of vehicle history or diagnostic software, and exposure to digital inspection applications will also be considered an advantage. Familiarity with Japanese, European, American, and GCC-spec vehicles is beneficial.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with attention to detail, integrity, and clear reporting skills. The job also requires the physical ability to inspect underbody and engine-bay areas accurately.
