About the company

CDC Data Centres, established in 2007, is a major operator of secure, high-standard data centre facilities across Australia and New Zealand. The organisation runs a network of large-scale campuses that support colocation, dedicated, and hyperscale compute environments, all linked by high-speed, carrier-grade connectivity. CDC places strong emphasis on diversity, inclusion, and building a workforce that is committed, thorough, and resilient.

About the role

The Technical Procurement Specialist will support the full engagement cycle for major equipment and related services for CDC Developments. The focus of the role is to make sure equipment and services are delivered with strong quality, dependable performance, and the ability to scale, while also securing commercially favourable outcomes that support business goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Support early-stage planning for new builds and service needs by contributing to capacity, scope, and delivery considerations.
  • Ensure equipment and service requirements are aligned with project schedules, milestones, and procurement workflows from design through commissioning.
  • Provide both technical and commercial input into proposals, supplier interactions, and services coordination.
  • Handle engagement with service providers, monitor progress, reduce risk, and report on delivery status.
  • Carry out site visits and assist with scope clarification, cost estimating, and invoice review to support accurate project delivery.
  • Coordinate logistics, compliance-related activities, and ongoing improvements throughout project and service execution.

Candidate profile

This position suits someone with solid commercial and technical knowledge in construction, industrial facilities, or large-scale services environments. Candidates with a mechanical, electrical, or ICT/OT background are welcome, particularly those wanting to build a career in procurement.

Requirements

  • Experience managing contracts, technical scopes, and supply agreements for equipment and services.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, negotiate effectively, and resolve issues across engineering, construction, and supplier groups.
  • Strong relationship management skills with a focus on delivery quality and satisfaction outcomes.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills for analysing costs, schedules, and procurement information.
  • Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance.

Additional information

The role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney, with flexibility to work from CBD offices or Western Suburbs campuses.

Benefits

  • Access to CDC Academy for professional development and specialised training.
  • One additional paid CDC Day for health and wellbeing.
  • Parental leave above statutory requirements.
  • Two days of volunteer leave each year for a cause or charity of your choice.
  • Employee Assistance Program support for you and your family.
  • Staff social events such as BBQs, family picnics, and community gatherings.

How to apply

Applicants should submit a resume and cover letter to be considered for the role.
